It was normal visit to 30 Strikes Bowling alley on Friday afternoon. I walked in, and I was told that Mr. Stripolli, my sponsor, was in the back fixing one of the machines, so I headed to the back to find him doing his habitual maintenance work. It occurred to him that we should meet on Thursdays instead of Fridays because he is the mechanic on Fridays, whereas on Thursdays he is in his office more, which could be more beneficial to my cause. After he finished his task with the machine, we went into his office, and he would again lecture me about what he recommends I do about my certain aspects of my life. This time he didn't focus on my math handicap, but instead he advised me to be more conscientious about world conundrums by watching the news. He says that smart and sophisticated people know what's going in the world. For example, he said that I should know what's going on in Japan, or how I should be aware about certain governments, and how they're being governed by dictators for example. Also, he mentioned that I should ignore the local news because it's really not that important because who really cares if they have a sale on brasierres at Marshalls. After our chat, we headed to his office, and he let me update recent high scores on the website. That concludes my visit to the bowling alley. Tune in next week.

This is a man after my own heart. I feel the same way about local news. World news is history in the making, and the man confirms what I have always thought: readers are leaders. People with power and influence will take you more seriously if you are a consumer and processor of news and information.
ReplyDeleteGood move changing to Thursdays.
